CULTIVAR DISCOVERY

We work to draw connections between genotypes, phenotypic expression, and distinctive phytochemistry production in order to understand the specific science of each cultivar, cannabinoid, and terpene. The better we understand how conditions and genotypes affect resulting characteristics, the better we can serve our customers with products fine-tuned to improve day-to-day life.

In our studies, we sought out as many different phenotypes and genotypes as possible to better understand the range of possibilities. But after examining the hundreds of plants and seeds collected across continents and generations, we found that most of the cannabis in existence exhibit very similar characteristics. We coveted the plants that stood out; the cultivars that showed different terpenes and characteristics, speaking to the part of the cannabis experience not yet available to consumers.

The chief objective of mastering these connections is to deliver the consistency and quality that our customers deserve, raising their expectations of the utility this plant can offer and transforming the way people interact with cannabis.

    TARGETED BREEDING

    In addition to our work collecting rare plants, we have initiated a targeted breeding program. To populate our ever evolving catalogue with exciting plants, we use a Mendelian approach to identify dominant homozygotes, recessive homozygotes, heterozygotes, true XX plants and desirable traits.

    PrūfOS

    Our proprietary system goes well beyond conventional approaches to environmental control. Backed by a network of high resolution sensor arrays, it allows us to fully leverage our remarkably accurate CEA pods (controlled environment agriculture) for trials and peak performance. PrūfOS features a custom app + machine learning platform purpose-built to optimize phenotypic expressions across a broad spectrum of chemovars to create unrivaled stability and diversity in our products.

    PHOTOBIOLOGY STUDIES

    Using advanced experimental designs this work allows us to continually build upon and improve our insights into the relationship between wavelength, photon intensity, plant morphology and the production of secondary metabolites.

    ORGANIC CROP PRODUCTION

    In addition to being Clean Green Certified, we are using cutting edge organic crop production strategies, including: custom mixed media recipes for groups of cultivars, biological and physical IPM, and rhizosphere dynamics.

    NEXT GEN ECO-AG TECH

    We aim to be leaders of next generation eco-ag tech, vertical farming and sincere stewards of our precious resources by studying our energy + water consumption and our choices of all materials and inputs. We work toward peak efficiency in our CEA programs, focusing on lighting, HVAC and cultural practices through intelligent monitoring and adapting new more efficient practices whenever possible.

Despite the complexity of our task, we work to use simple, clear scientific language to support our customers in finding long term quality of life improvement.
